Nourishing hope, one meal at a time
Step into Ghada's Kitchen, a place where shared recipes and community spirit come together to feed displaced children and families in Gaza. Discover how each meal delivered is a promise of warmth, trust, and hope.
More than just a meal: A community's embrace
What makes Ghada's Kitchen uniquely heartwarming is its foundation in community. It's not just a place where meals are cooked; it’s a kitchen where women and neighbors unite to care for their community. They transform shared recipes and hard work into daily acts of love and resilience. Unlike large, anonymous food programs, Ghada’s Kitchen is intimate and personal. It’s led by individuals who know the families they serve, often women living through the same crisis, choosing to stand in solidarity by cooking for others.
When you learn about Ghada’s Kitchen, we want you to feel warmth, trust, and hope. Imagine stepping into a welcoming home where someone has saved a plate for you. Every pot simmering on Ghada’s stoves carries more than food; it carries courage, friendship, and the promise that even in the hardest times, communities can still gather around a shared meal and take care of one another.
Bringing certainty and relief to vulnerable families
Ghada’s Kitchen primarily supports displaced children and families in Gaza who have lost their homes or income and now rely on community kitchens as their only consistent food source. These families live in tent camps, damaged buildings, or overcrowded shelters. Parents often cannot afford ingredients or fuel to cook, and children spend hours queuing with empty containers for the single hot meal they may eat that day.
For these families, Ghada’s Kitchen makes a profound difference. It transforms the fear of "what will we eat today?" into the certainty of at least one warm, nourishing dish. This improves nutrition, lowers stress, and offers both children and caregivers a moment of relief and stability. Access to hot meals, like those from Ghada’s Kitchen, is linked to better health, fewer malnutrition-related problems, and improved emotional well-being. It also strengthens community bonds as neighbors gather, share food, and remem
Meet Ghada’s Kitchen Team
Ghada’s Kitchen is led by sisters Ghada and Sanaa Qudaih, who provide hot meals, food parcels, and other necessities for displaced families in Khan Yunis. Their kitchen is more than a cooking space—it is a community hub where women and neighbors come together to care for families living in tent camps, damaged buildings, and overcrowded shelters.
What the team does
Ghada and Sanaa organize distributions that include snacks and a morning of fun activities for children in their camp, giving them a rare chance to play, laugh, and feel safe. They also coordinate parcels of dry goods for families within the camp, ensuring that households have basic ingredients they can rely on between hot meals.
Beyond daily food support, Ghada’s Kitchen helps fund larger community projects that improve living conditions. Through their efforts, the campaign has supported initiatives like installing a communal water barrel and contributing to the construction of a bathroom, creating shared infrastructure that benefits many families at once.
Team members
- Ghada Qudaih – Founder and lead organizer of Ghada’s Kitchen, coordinating meal preparation, distributions, and community projects such as the water barrel and bathroom.

Why many Palestinian women stay off camera?
Most women in Palestine don’t show their faces or post themselves on social media because of modesty and religious reasons. Because of this, they often receive less support—people assume that if a woman won’t go on video or share selfies, she isn’t really Palestinian and must be a scammer. In reality, many Palestinian women are protecting their dignity, privacy, and families, and their choice to stay off camera should never cost them care; these women deserve our full trust, solidarity, and support.
